This past Saturday, February 3, 2024, during their monthly meeting for February, 2023, the Comanche Business Committee passed Resolution 23-2024, "Resolution to Officially Oppose the Westwin Elements Cobalt Refinery Project."
This landmark resolution was introduced by Dr. Cornel Pewewardy and represents a major step towards a brighter future for not just the people of the Comanche Nation, but for all residents of Southwest Oklahoma.

On February 10, 2024, members of Westwin Resistance held a community sunrise ceremony on Indigenous lands where 'Delaware' start-up company Westwin Elements is working to build the first-ever U.S. cobalt refinery. Ceremony participants welcomed the new day and prayed for protection of Mother Earth and all creation.
